From LoveToKnow Sleep

Arlington sleep apnea doctors, dentists, technical specialists and sleep centers are available to help patients with their sleep problems. With a little research you can quickly locate the specialist or sleep center you need for diagnosis, treatment or information.

Arlington Sleep Apnea Specialists

Arlington is often overshadowed by Washington D.C. as a source for sleep apnea specialists. In reality, Arlington is home to many excellent sleep specialists. Sleep specialists with private practices as well as specialists associated with sleep centers provide excellent and convenient treatment for sleep problems such as sleep apnea.

If you are having trouble getting an uninterrupted night of sleep, your personal physician may recommend a consultation with a sleep specialist or a visit to a sleep center. The specialist can review your sleep habits and experiences, evaluate your daytime sleepiness and talk to your sleep partner about whether you are snoring or sound like you are having trouble breathing while sleeping. Based on their review they may then suggest that you have a sleep study to evaluate your sleeping patterns.

Your physician may recommend a specific sleep specialist. There are several well-regarded specialists and sleep centers in the Arlington area. If you already have been diagnosed with obstructive or central sleep apnea, these Arlington-area sleep specialists can also provide you with specific help with sleep apnea issues such as reviewing your pressure prescription for your CPAP machine or recommending a new CPAP mask.

Integrated Neurology Services

The main office of this well-known sleep expert, Dr. Simon Fishman, is located in Alexandria Virginia with a second office in Arlington. Dr. Fishman is a neurologist who works with patients to diagnose and treat sleep apnea. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Patients who need a sleep study do not have to stay overnight in a sleep center. Instead, Dr. Fishman's staff provides the patient with a portable monitoring device that the patient wears at home for one night and then returns the next day. The information recorded on the device can detect obstructive sleep apnea and provide the information necessary to prescribe a pressure level for a CPAP machine. This at home sleep test is just as accurate as a sleep lab study and a lot more convenient and comfortable for the patient.

The Arlington office is located at:

  • 3833 N. Fairfax Drive, 4th Floor
  • Arlington, VA 22203
